Small-Town Feel in Norman, OK

Many people describe Norman as having a great small-town atmosphere. Norman's population is approximately 125,000, which is not that small for Oklahoma, and Norman is actually Oklahoma's third-largest city. However, if you live in Norman for any length of time and become engaged in something like a church, a gym, or even a club, it's very easy to walk anywhere without knowing someone, and I believe that's why people say Norman has such a friendly small-town vibe. Also, we can easily get to Oklahoma City from Norman because it is in a great location. And, of course, other places, but Oklahoma City is the state's largest metropolis and about 20 miles away, depending on which area you're traveling to. Norman, OK, is a great location, and it offers a small-town feel because people are so friendly, and everything is near you.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections put the State on Lockdown

Following an incident at the Dick Conner Correctional Center, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections declared a nationwide lockdown on Friday. According to ODOC, all visits to Oklahoma facilities have been canceled until further notice. The incident occurred in the Hominy Correctional Center, and the cause of the lockdown was not immediately evident. However, I'm sure that there's a good reason why they implemented a lockdown. Whatever it is, it's always for the safety of the big majority, so I'm just glad that the Department of Corrections did it. Hopefully, no one was badly affected by the lockdown. Read more
